Welcome to ancient coin museum
Ancient Coin Museum is a non-profit website dedicated to assisting research and providing detailed historical biographies and information regarding ancient coins (particularly Roman) in general.
Here you will find a variety of biographies related to Greek/Macedonian history, Enemies of Rome (Barbarian Tribes) and an extensive listing of Roman Imperators and Emperors with corresponding coins. In addition there are select coinages highlighted from many geographical areas in the ancient Greek world.

The biographies contained are adapted from both ancient and secondary sources. Those of the Roman emperors are adapted primarily from the works of a variety of ancients and the excellent work of Michael Grant, David Vagi, and by the authors and editors of the Roman Imperial Coinage. Please see the bibliography link for a full listing of works used and consulted for this website.
